Paul Pittman, LEG

As a geomorphologist Paul incorporates the longer-term evolution of rivers into a project’s design approach, working to tease out complex landscape interactions to better manage and restore river systems. His work has spanned diverse scales and environments, from site and reach-scale designs and assessments to watershed and basin-scale planning efforts, with particular focus on gravel bed stream and alluvial fan processes. Paul has authored multiple geomorphology-focused studies that have advanced regional scientific understanding on channel migration, shoreline erosion and stabilization, and hazard-risk management.
