VICE PRESIDENT OF STRATEGY AND OPERATIONS

Kindra Covert, MA

Kindra Covert (they/them) is a self-described ‘people ecologist’—someone who thinks in systems, tends to relationships, and understands that how people work together is just as important as the work itself. As Vice President of Strategy and Operations, Kindra leads firm-wide initiatives and shapes the operational conditions that allow our talented team to thrive in a way that keeps W2r’s core value—partnering with people—at the center of everything we do.

From teaching human-centered design in Australia, to serving as Education Ambassador to Peking University in Beijing, to farming in New Zealand, or sailing around the world, they have spent a career learning how people function across vastly different environments, exploring what builds trust and what it takes to cultivate something worth sustaining. Their curiosity about people and systems, combined with 15 years of experience in strategy, program management, change management, and AI strategy, is what drew Kindra to W2r, and what they bring to our team and clients as we head into our second decade.

Kindra holds an M.A. from the University of Southern California and a B.A. from Loyola Marymount University.

COMMITMENT TO EQUITY

While work in the water and natural resources fields has been built around protecting and preserving nature, it has not always protected or accepted all people. Wolf Water Resources recognizes the exclusive history of engineering and environmentalism and we are diligently working towards more diverse collaborations. Diversifying our profession is a vital and on-going journey, and W2r commits to interviewing 100% of minority applicants and providing contacts and recommendations when we do not have an immediate employment opening. W2r also actively involves minority, woman, and veteran-owned firms on project work and in business operations.
