WATER RESOURCES ENGINEER

Amanda (AJ) Jones, PE, ESCM

AJ has led some of W2r’s most innovative process-based restoration projects from concept design through construction, giving her keen insights on the analysis, permitting, and construction aspects of Stage 8 and 0 design approaches. Her on-the-ground collaborations with agencies and construction contractors have honed her skill in anticipating key design factors that improve project cost and constructability, and in knowing what resource agencies want and will permit. AJ is skilled in hydraulic modeling, plan set development and leading complex project teams.

“Observing and designing for ecological evolution is part of why working with rivers is so rewarding. River systems are dynamic, so we plan for rivers to adjust and mature through time. Working with nature in this way can avoid over analyzing and over building where change and variability are certain.”
